Breeders Cup 2017

The 2017 Breeders Cup is set to take place at Del Mar race course for a prize fund of a stunning $28 million. With many of the world’s top horses set to take each other on over the two days as many of the key European contenders will be expected to come from the stable of Aiden O’Brien.

The 5 year old Highland Reel will be heading over with a leading chance as the globetrotting star looks to defend his crown in the Breeders’ Cup Turf. Highland Reel has raced successfully all around the world and has gained over £6 million in Prize money.

The horse made all the running for a decisive victory in this race last year as he quickened up to lead by over 7 lengths passing half way at odds of 7/2.  The latest horse racing betting odds have Highland Reel as the 5/2 second favourite behind the other European contender in Ulysses.

Ulysses is the 9/4 favourite for the race following his solid run the Arc. He will be expected to go close following side stepping the Champion stakes for this event. The horse is trained by a master in Sir Michael Stoute and has continued to progress throughout the year. With these two key challengers in the race a European winner will be expected to come from the Breeders’ Cup turf.
