ppgenerichorseracingCasey Jones, one of the potential front runners for Saturdays Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury has been declared a non-runner. The 16/1 shot had made the journey from Ireland, where he is trained by Noel Meade, when it was discovered that he had a temperature which has since ruled him out of contention.

Though his trainer doesn't believe it's anything to worry about and that it's probably only travel sickness he has been withdrawn, much to the disappointment of his owner Ms Gillian Burke and jockey Noel Fehily who was due to ride him.

This means that just 20 horses remain in contention for the Hennessy Gold Cup title and £200,000 prize pool, with Denman the front runner with every bookie.
