The future fo the Chelsea boss is in doubt after yet another defeat and poor performance.

Ex Chelsea Striker and now BBC Radio 5 live pundit Chris Sutton believes that time is up for the Italian manager. Chelsea and in particular Roman Ibramhovic have been known to not having much patience when it comes to managers. They sacked Roberto Di Matteo in 2012/13 season after just eight months. The ex Chelsea midfielder had won the club their first Champions League and FA cup in that time.

However, the current manager hasn’t had such look. He has made it to the final of the EFL Cup. But Chelsea have been knocked out of the FA cup and sit fifth in the table after a promising start to the season.

Many issues have been building up at the club which haven’t looked good for the manager. After a 4-0 loss to Bournemouth Sarri said he was struggling to motivate the players. This was the clubs biggest league defeat in 24 years and the managers biggest league defeat ever. What followed this was a league loss two weeks later to Man City where they broke both previous records with a 6-0 loss.

On top of league defeats Sarri has also been criticised for totally changing Chelseas formation and style of play. The last few years they have played a three at the back formation with wingbacks. This worked well for them as they won a league playing that style of play. However since the new manager has come in he has tried to get them playing ‘Sarri-ball’. A possession based style of play, opposite to what they were playing under Conte. Sarri has also been playing Kante out of position which has come under much criticism. The Frenchman is arguably the best in the world in his holding midfielder role.

Chelsea Fans React

Chelsea fans were far from happy at Monday nights FA Cup defeat to Man United. Angered fans could be heard singing “you don’t know what you’re doing”, especially when Zappacosta replaced fellow defender Azpilicueta in the 81st minute.

Chelsea fans also made their feelings clear on Sarri-ball. They could be heard singing songs towards the manager that couldn’t be aired on TV! Even though they did have 66.9% of the ball they still couldn’t do anything with it. Man United fans could even be heard to be getting in on the act. The fans who have had managerial troubles of their own this season were singing “sacked in the morning” to the losing manager.

This is now a fifth loss in the last ten games for Chelsea, as many as they managed in their last 41 games. The fans were calling for the club to bring back their all time top goal scorer, Frank Lampard, as their new manager.

Chelsea do still however have a EFL Cup final to play this Sunday. Betfair are offering 2/1 on Chelsea to lift the trophy on Sunday or 9/2 to do it in 90 minutes. To regain their Champions League place is 5/4. To win the other competition they’re still in, Europa League, is 9/2. Chelsea will be hoping to turn their season around and starting this off with a win Sunday. However, if you don’t feel the club can turn it around then you can get Sarri to be the next manager sacked at 1/4.

After last nights result though its seems now it'll be Solskjaer who lands the Man United job permanently. Many pundits are thinking its a matter of if not when United hand the job over to the Norwegian
