Cassava Enterprises Ltd is a limited company which operates pacificpoker.com, Cassava was founded in 1997 and is based in Gibraltar. Their subsidary, 888 Holdings Plc, are listed on the London Stock Exchange as symbol 888. The founders of the 888 company were brothers Avi and Aaron Shaked. They owned 70 percent of the company before the stock launch. Now Shay and Ron Ben-Yitzhak controlled 20 percent through a family trust and employees of the company collectively owned the rest.

Pacific Poker or 888 poker is Cassava's online poker room. Launched in 2002 and focuses exclusively on poker and other card games. Games offered including Texas Hold'em, Omaha, and Seven-card stud. Like Casino-on-Net, Pacific Poker offers free play versions of its games for players who prefer not to risk real money. Pacific Poker is Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh compatible.
