The Fox - Guide To Poker PlayersThe ultimate player in the game of poker is, undoubtedly, the 'Fox'. If you fall into this category then good for you because you'll probably go on to make a nice tidy living from the game. At this stage, players who fall into the 'Fox' category have worked everything out and put it all together in a neat little package that will see them win big. Foxes have complete understanding of their hand and more importantly they have a complete understanding of yours! These players can spot tells and player types from 10 paces and will know exactly how you will play at every turn. Unlike the other types of players profiled in this guide, the Fox doesn't make mistakes but unless you really over estimate your own abilities then you're unlikely to run into 'Foxes' as they play at the very high end tables which most of us mere mortals avoid like the plague. But if you do happen to be playing at the same table (can happen in MTT's with big jackpots) then look out for the following which will reveal the Fox: they will make large adjustments to play depending on their table position as, unlike most players, 'Foxes' do not grossly under estimated the importance of position. They are not reliable or predictable players and will frequently adjust their style of play and shift gears along the way. They will also recognise when they are beat a lot faster then most and will raise and subsequently fold in the same round if re-raised by what they believe to be a better hand. So, in summary, Foxes are the best and unless you think you can beat them, don't join them! |
