The latest series of Britain’s Got Talent is now well underway and the usual assortment of singers, dancers, cute kids and animals are battling it out to perform at the Royal Variety show later this year.
Alesha Dixon, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and of course Simon Cowell, are back at the judge’s table to decide which acts are worthy of a place in the later rounds.
Personally, I think the auditions are the best and most entertaining bit of the show as we’re treated to the really, really bad, as well as the talented.
As someone with no talent for entertaining whatsoever, it’s quite nice to see I’m not alone!
Fortunately, Britain does have talent and with limited places available, the judge’s job is not always easy.
Britains Got Talent Contestants 2022
As with every talent show, there is a heady mix of the brilliant and the not so brilliant. For 2022, there are already a couple of front runners, despite the audition stages having just started.
23-year-old secondary school teacher, Tom Ball leads the betting market on pretty short odds of around 4/1 to win BGT 2022.
Belting out Sam Smith’s ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ from the James Bond movie, Spectre, Tom Ball brought the audience to their feet and is deservedly the favourite to win the show in 2022.
Born To Perform definitely look like they will give Tom Ball a run for his money. The dance act, made up of young people with disabilities, brought pure joy to the stage when they did a routine to ‘You Can’t Stop The Beat’ from the musical Hairspray.
It was so good, that David Walliams even hit the Golden Buzzer, sending the wonderful Born to Perform straight through to the semi-finals of BGT 2022.
Next up and on odds around 8/1 are Front Line Singers. Sparking an emotional reaction from the judges, the group are a choir made up of front line workers, including teachers, paramedics and nurses, aged between 24 and 62.
They performed an original song, ‘Strange Old World’ inspired by their struggles and teamwork during the pandemic.
Also looking strong in the odds market for Britains Got Talent 2022 are The Freaks.
The death-defying aerial acrobatic troupe from Austria made it straight through to the next round, however, fans were left disappointed that they weren’t given the Golden Buzzer.
To be fair though, it does mean we get to see more of them which is a great thing because they are phenomenal!
