The 19/20 Premier League season is in full flow. It’s still early days, but a few teams are already laying markers.
Last year’s runners-up Liverpool have made an incredible start. Reigning champions Manchester City also look as formidable as ever. It looks like it could be a two-horse race yet again. However, there’s still plenty of time for other teams to improve.
We decided to share our expertise with you and provide our Premier League predictions for the season. We’ll also show you some of the best betting sites online. If you’re taking advantage of any offers, please remember to familiarise yourself with the terms and conditions before you start.
As always, things can change throughout the season. If you’re betting regularly, keep a close eye on form and team news. If Tottenham lose Harry Kane to injury, for instance, their tactics and plans may change. You’ll need to adjust your betting strategy if that’s the case. Here are our EPL tips for the rest of the season.
Premier League Champions
We’re confident that Liverpool or Man City will win the title this year. There isn’t much between the two sides. It could be decided by the fixtures that they play against each other.
Their squads are deep, and they score goals for fun. It’s hard to see teams like Man Utd, Arsenal, and Chelsea competing, especially when they’re going through a transitional period. We think it will be another couple of years before these teams are playing for major honours again.
Naturally, we think that City and Liverpool will qualify for next season’s Champions League. However, who will take the two remaining spots? It’s extremely difficult to call. Man Utd, Spurs, and Arsenal are usually there, but they all look vulnerable this season. Could a team like Leicester or Everton slip in? It’s certainly on the cards.
Pochettino will guide Tottenham there if players like Kane, Son, and Eriksen stay fit. We have also seen enough from Chelsea. If Lampard can get his team firing on all cylinders, the Blues should qualify comfortably.
This will go right down to the wire. Five or six clubs could be involved in the race for Champions League football. The big guns look shaky. Perhaps this could be the year that an underdog slips in. Let’s wait and see how it unfolds.
We’re going to make an early prediction that Watford will go down. The Hornets have made a dreadful start to the season. If it continues, it won’t be long until Quique Sánchez Flores loses his job. Hopefully, they can improve quickly for the sake of the fans. It’s worth remembering that Watford made it to the FA Cup final last season.
Newcomers Sheffield United and Norwich have made excellent starts, but can they keep it up for the rest of the season? The Premier League is extremely demanding. However, we think they’ll do enough to stay up. On the other hand, Southampton, Brighton, Aston Villa, and Burnley could all struggle.
