With nine games remaining in the Premier League there are still several players in for the Golden Boot, but who is the favourite?

The race for the Golden Boot is always an exciting one. The Premier League has some of the worlds best goalscorers in it and it usually goes down to the last game.

Last season’s award was split between Salah, Mane and Aubameyang and all three are in with a shout this season. To make it more interesting, players like Rashford who seemed out of the running are now back fit and back with a chance.

A lot of the players near the top are playing for teams near the top of the league. Looking at the runs, most of them have favourable ones against lower sides. This should hopefully mean we see a lot of goals before the Premier League 2019/20 season is finally over!

Premier League Top Scorer Odds (Paddy Power)

Jamie Vardy (Leicester) – 15/8

The Leicester striker is currently leading the way in the Premier League for the most goals scored. Vardy has 19 goals this season, two more than anyone else. However, he has never won the Golden Boot before and his best season was 2015/16 when he finished with 24.

With nine games to go, he could still go on to beat this. Leicester City still have to play five teams from the bottom half of the table and Vardy will be backing himself to add more goals.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) – 7/2

Now in his third season at Arsenal, Aubameyang has shown what a threat he is in front of goal. Last season he finished joint top with Salah and Mane on 22 goals.

Arsenal will be fighting to try and get into the Europa League places and will need Aubameyang at his best. He is their best player and we expect him to take Vardy all the way for the Golden Boot.

Sergio Aguero (Man City) – 4/1

Surprisingly it has been five years since Aguero won his first and only Golden Boot. He currently has 16 goals this season so isn’t far off.

Manchester City have had a disappointing season languishing at least 25 points behind Liverpool and will want to finish strongly. Aguero may be getting older however he is still as dangerous in front of goal.

Now City have everyone back fit in terms of De Bruyne and Sane, expect Aguero to be given plenty of chances to increase his goal tally for the season.

Mo Salah (Liverpool) – 6/1

Since Mo Salah has been in the Premier League, no one has scored more goals than him. He has won the Golden Boot the past two seasons and would to join Henry and Shearer by winning it three in a row.

Liverpool have been incredible this year and are blowing teams away. When they do this, Salah usually gets himself on the score sheet. The only thing that could stop him winning three in a row is if Klopp rests him for next season.

Sadio Mane (Liverpool) – 14/1

Just behind Salah on goals, is his Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane. Mane has 14 goals this season and has arguably been the best player this year. However, he could be in the same situation as Salah in terms of game time.

As the title is wrapped up, will Klopp give squad players more playing time and rest up his key ones for the 2020/21 season?

Obviously, there are other players in with a shout for the Golden Boot. Danny Ings (18/1) has 15 goals this season and Marcus Rashford (17/1), who is now back fit, has 14 goals this season.

With nine games to go it can all change and a bet on a top scorer makes every game that bit more exciting!
